What is SAMS?

SAMS (Smart Asset Monitoring System) is a modular platform that links digital and analog sensors to a dedicated Holdstein Gateway and a structured data layer. It was created for owners and operators of critical assets who need more than occasional inspections or isolated data logagers: SAMS provides a permanent, integrated view of how equipment behaves over time, so you can understand risk, anticipate failures and support better engineering decisions.

Vertical solutions such as MoorSafe for mooring-line integrity run on top of the SAMS platform, while standalone instruments remain available for specific investigations when a full monitoring architecture is not required.

How SAMS is built

Field Sensors

SAMS starts at the field level with rugged sensors that measure what really matters: vibration, shock, temperature and other critical variables. Sensors can be wired or wireless, digital or analog, and are selected for each application – from rotating equipment in plants to structures and mooring systems offshore.

Holdstein Gateway & Edge Processing

The Holdstein Gateway acts as the bridge between sensors and your data infrastructure. It aggregates signals, performs edge processing when needed, and uses standard industrial and IT interfaces (such as Ethernet, Wi-Fi or other networks) to move data securely to the next layer. Legacy equipment and new sensors can coexist in the same architecture.

Data, Dashboards & Integration

On the data side, SAMS organizes measurements into structured datasets and dashboards that engineers can actually use. Trends, events and alarms can be visualized in engineering units and exported to your existing systems. As your program evolves, SAMS supports more advanced analytics, including condition indicators and predictive maintenance models.
